Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet (A207) (A207)

The A207 made a four-seat Cabriolet feel usable beyond summer, putting an airfoil above the windscreen, warm air around each front occupant’s neck, and a thick fabric roof between the cabin and winter.

Launched in 2010 as the open member of the 207-series E-Class family, it paired a fully automatic acoustic soft top with AIRCAP wind management and available AIRSCARF neck-level heating. The roof folded beneath a flush rear deck in about twenty seconds, while frameless side glass and the absence of a fixed B-pillar preserved the clean profile expected of a Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet.

The 2013 redesign replaced the split headlamp graphic with single-piece lamps and brought new assistance systems, direct-injection four- and six-cylinder engines, and later 9G-TRONIC for selected diesels. Standard production ran from January 2010 through December 2016; the archive’s unique-Baumuster totals account for 130,667 A207 Cabriolets before the A238 arrived.

From the AIRCAP launch through new BlueDIRECT engines, the 2013 redesign and the final US model year.

2010
- European deliveries began with a fully automatic acoustic fabric soft top that opened or closed in about 20 seconds and stowed beneath a flush rear deck.
- AIRCAP combined a deployable windscreen-header airfoil with a rear-seat wind deflector, while AIRSCARF neck-level heating extended open-air use into colder weather.
- The launch range included direct-injection petrol fours, V6 and V8 petrol engines, and four- and six-cylinder CDI diesels.
2011
- The A207 reached the United States for model year 2011 as the E 350 and E 550 Cabriolet.
- BlueDIRECT M276 V6 and M278 biturbo V8 engines began replacing the M272 and M273, accompanied by 7G-TRONIC PLUS.
2012
- The US E 350 adopted the 302-hp M276 3.5-liter direct-injection V6, while the E 550 changed to a 402-hp M278 4.7-liter biturbo V8.
2014
- The major redesign replaced the four-lamp face with single-piece headlamps and revised the grille, bonnet, bumpers, rear lamps and interior details.
- Stereo-camera driver assistance added enhanced collision prevention, lane assistance and adaptive high-beam functions.
- M274 turbo fours replaced the M271 petrol engines, and the updated diesel range progressed from CDI to BlueTEC badging.
2015
- The twin-turbo E 400 replaced the E 350 in the US range, using the 3.0-liter M276 V6.
- 9G-TRONIC reached the BlueTEC four-cylinder and six-cylinder diesel Cabriolets during the later production phases.
2017
- The final US model year comprised E 400 and E 550 Cabriolets built before standard A207 production ended in December 2016.
- The A238 E-Class Cabriolet succeeded the A207.
