Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van (W905)

The W905 was a specialized heavy variant within the first-generation Sprinter family — a Baureihe for the largest T1N models that pushed payload and gross weight beyond the standard W904 class.

The 616 CDI model line defined the W905 program, using the OM612 diesel to serve operators who needed maximum capacity in the original Sprinter architecture before the second-generation NCV3 platform arrived. It shared the T1N's fundamental design but was engineered for the upper limit of the first-generation range.

Built from 2001 to 2005, the W905 served a narrow but demanding slice of the commercial market. It was the final evolution of the heaviest first-generation Sprinter variants.
