Silver, streamlined, and built for a single Grand Prix season — the W125 was Mercedes-Benz's answer to 1937, and Rudolf Caracciola's weapon in one of the most dominant championship campaigns in pre-war racing.
Designed under the 750 kg formula, the W125 paired a supercharged eight-cylinder engine with a low, light chassis and fully independent suspension — technology that pushed Grand Prix engineering to its pre-war limit. Caracciola, Hermann Lang, and the Mercedes-Benz team swept the 1937 European Championship, establishing the W125 alongside the W25 as the defining Silver Arrow of its era.
Only a handful of W125s were hand-built for the 1937 season — Grand Prix weapons, not a production line. What endures is the result: a Mercedes-Benz that still ranks among the most formidable racing cars of the 1930s.
