Mercedes-Benz 711.6 6-Speed Manual Transmission transmission

Mercedes-Benz’s modern six-speed manual — still offered when most rivals had given up on a third pedal.

The 711.6 covers a family of hydraulically actuated manuals: commercial-vehicle units (including Sprinter) and passenger-car six-speeds such as NSG 270 / NSG 400 / NSG 510, rated from about 270 to over 400 N·m. In cars it appeared in the W203/W204 C-Class, R171/R172 SLK, W212 E-Class, X204 GLK and related models; a transverse SG-F310 variant also served FWD A- and B-Class applications.

It was one of the last widely available factory manuals in the Mercedes-Benz passenger-car range before dual-clutch and torque-converter automatics took over almost every model line.
