Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate (S206) (S206)

The S206 gave the fifth-generation C-Class its most useful shape without surrendering the proportions of a rear-driven Mercedes-Benz. Its 4,751-millimetre body and 2,865-millimetre wheelbase match the saloon, but the extended roof opens onto 490 litres behind the rear seats and 1,510 litres with the 40:20:40 backrest folded.

Series production of saloon and Estate began together at Bremen in March 2021. Every combustion engine was a four-cylinder and every one was electrified: M254 petrol and OM654M diesel models used a 48-volt integrated starter-generator, while the C 300 e and C 300 de placed a 25.4 kWh battery beneath a flat load floor. Optional rear-axle steering reduced the turning circle by 43 centimetres, and DIGITAL LIGHT brought S-Class projection technology into the compact estate class.

The body also carried the generation’s sharpest reversal of AMG tradition. The C 43 replaced a V6 with the longitudinal M139 and an electrically assisted turbocharger; the C 63 S E PERFORMANCE replaced a V8 with the same four-cylinder family, a rear-axle motor and a 6.1 kWh performance battery. At the other end of the range, the C 200 and C 220 d remain the core 2026 Estate models in the UK.

From the simultaneous 2021 saloon-and-Estate launch to long-range plug-in hybrids and four-cylinder AMG flagships.

2021
- Saloon and Estate premiered together on 23 February and entered production at Bremen in March; European deliveries began in summer.
- The S206 grew to 4,751 mm long on a 2,865 mm wheelbase, with 490 litres of luggage space expanding to 1,510 litres.
- All launch engines adopted 48-volt assistance and the nine-speed automatic; DIGITAL LIGHT and rear-axle steering were new C-Class options.
- C 300 e production followed in December with a 25.4 kWh battery, 95 kW motor and optional 55 kW DC charging.
2022
- Diesel plug-in C 300 de Estate variants broadened the electric-range offering while retaining the flat luggage floor.
- Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Estate began production in April with the longitudinal M139, electric exhaust-gas turbocharger and rear-biased all-wheel drive.
- C 63 S E PERFORMANCE Estate production began in November: 500 kW system output, 1,020 N·m and a directly cooled 6.1 kWh battery.
2024
- The C 43 combustion-engine rating rose from 300 to 310 kW in current European specification, with the same 206.287 Baumuster and M139.580 engine.
- European emissions certification moved to Euro 6e; the core estate architecture and body dimensions were unchanged.
2026
- The S206 remained orderable alongside the new electric C-Class, with C 200 and C 220 d confirmed in the current UK Estate range.
