The second AMG GT gained two seats, all-wheel drive and — for the first time in the model’s life — genuine everyday usability.
Revealed in August 2023, the C192 shares its aluminum architecture with the R232 SL, adopts AMG 4MATIC+ with rear-axle steering as standard on V8 versions, and spans the M139 four-cylinder GT 43 through the M177 V8 in the GT 55 and GT 63 to the 816 PS GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE plug-in hybrid.
Built at Affalterbach, it marks the AMG GT’s transition from a front-mid-engined two-seat sports car into a usable grand tourer.

- Second-generation AMG GT launched in the United States as GT 55 and GT 63 with standard fully variable 4MATIC+, rear-axle steering, active roll stabilization and optional 2+2 seating.
- 2025
- The US range expanded for model year 2025 with the rear-wheel-drive, four-cylinder GT 43, the 805-hp GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE plug-in hybrid and the track-focused 603-hp GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+.
- APXGP Edition, limited to 52 cars, reproduced the black-and-gold livery and interior treatment of the fictional Formula 1 team from the film F1.
- 2026
- GT 63 PRO became the Official FIA Formula 1 Safety Car from the Hungarian Grand Prix, the first Mercedes-AMG safety car with all-wheel drive.
- MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure opened hundreds of bespoke exterior colors and expanded cabin choices to GT customers.
