Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan (W214) (W214)

Every W214 is electrified — mild hybrid at minimum, plug-in at the top — so there is no unassisted combustion engine anywhere in the range.

Revealed in April 2023 and built at Sindelfingen from May, it pairs M254 fours and M256 sixes with 48-volt integrated starter-generators, adds plug-in hybrids with roughly 100 kilometers of electric range, and offers the MBUX Superscreen spanning the full width of the dashboard.

The estate followed later in 2023 and an All-Terrain variant returned, continuing the E-Class as the marque’s executive volume car.

Year by year.

The software-led, fully electrified E-Class and its long-range AMG performance hybrid.

  1. 2024
    • W214 launched in the United States with standard 48-volt E 350 and E 450 powertrains, optional rear-axle steering and flush door handles.
    • Third-generation MBUX offered an optional passenger display, selfie/video camera and native third-party apps; routines could automate comfort settings without a cloud connection.

  2. 2025
    • AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ joined the US sedan range with a 3.0-liter inline-six and 120 kW motor: 430 kW (577 hp), or 450 kW (604 hp) with Race Start.
    • Its 28.6 kWh battery enabled substantial electric range, 11 kW AC charging and 60 kW DC charging; AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL became available.
