Mercedes-Benz Large Sedan · 170 VG
Four-wheel-drive Kübel development on the 170 line.

The W133 adapted the Typ 170 line to four-wheel-drive duty: a development mule and small-series program aimed at military and expedition applications rather than private motoring. Rigid axles, selectable drive to the front wheels, and open Kübel-style bodies tested ideas that would resurface across the W136 and W139 programs within a year.
All 62 recorded examples date to 1935 in the archive tables. The 170 VG was a bridge — too few to matter in commercial terms, but important in the genealogy of Mercedes-Benz all-wheel-drive development.

1 distinct series across 1935 — each identified by its chassis and engine numbers from period factory data.
