Mercedes-Benz Large Sedan · Typ 200
The Typ 200 — volume mid-size Mercedes of the mid-1930s.

The Typ 200's inline-six and conventional layout made it a straightforward choice for factory saloon bodies and coachbuilt variants alike. It sat at the heart of Mercedes-Benz's interwar volume strategy, offering enough prestige for the three-pointed star badge without the cost and complexity of larger executive or eight-cylinder models.
From 1933 to 1936, production reached 15,622 examples — one of the highest totals of any pre-war Mercedes-Benz chassis. That scale confirms the Typ 200 as the defining mid-size Mercedes of its era, the everyday expression of the brand between the smaller Typ 170 and the longer Typ 290.

2 distinct series across 1933–1936 — each identified by its chassis and engine numbers from period factory data.
