The X214 raises the E-Class Estate without turning it into an SUV. Its standard single-chamber AIRMATIC suspension can provide up to 46 millimetres more ground clearance than the conventional S214, while adaptive damping, 4MATIC and 19-inch wheels preserve the long-distance character that defines an E-Class wagon.

Unveiled in September 2023 and in catalogue production from October, the All-Terrain carries a unique grille, dark wheel-arch cladding and model-specific bumpers over the S214’s 2,961-millimetre wheelbase. OFFROAD mode coordinates the drivetrain, suspension and stability systems. The 360-degree camera adds an off-road screen and a transparent-bonnet view that composes the ground beneath the front of the car on the central display.

The global range is broader than the single E 450 4MATIC sold in the United States. Europe also receives the four-cylinder E 220 d 4MATIC, the E 300 de 4MATIC diesel plug-in hybrid and the six-cylinder E 450 d 4MATIC. Mild-hybrid versions retain 615 litres of luggage space and 1,830 litres maximum; the plug-in packages its 25.4 kWh battery beneath a 460-to-1,675-litre load bay.

  1. 2023
    • World premiere in September, with European ordering and catalogue production beginning in October.
    • Standard equipment included 4MATIC, single-chamber AIRMATIC with continuously adjustable damping and an OFFROAD drive program.
    • The 360-degree camera gained an off-road display and transparent-bonnet view for the area immediately beneath the front axle.
    • Four global variants launched: E 220 d, E 300 de, E 450 and E 450 d, all with 4MATIC.
  2. 2024
    • The X214 reached the United States for model year 2024 solely as the E 450 4MATIC All-Terrain, rated at 375 hp and 369 lb-ft.
    • The US model paired standard AIRMATIC, OFFROAD mode and 18″ wheels with up to 64.6 cubic feet of luggage capacity.
  3. 2026
    • The German range continued with E 220 d 4MATIC, E 300 de 4MATIC, E 450 4MATIC and E 450 d 4MATIC.
    • The E 450 4MATIC remained the sole US All-Terrain powertrain.
