Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé (C217) (C217)

Mercedes-Benz had not built an S-Class Cabriolet in decades — the C217 changed that, wrapping the W222 S-Class's refinement and technology in a four-seat open body with an automated fabric roof and a presence no SL could replicate.

Launched in 2014, the C217 S-Class Coupé offered the full W222 powertrain range through the AMG S 63 and S 65 V12 biturbo variants. AIRMATIC air suspension, Magic Body Control, and the full suite of S-Class safety systems made the pillarless four-seater a distinct flagship above the E-Class Coupé.

Built from 2014 to 2020 and sold in the US through model year 2021, the C217 was the final S-Class Coupé — a four-seat grand tourer that closed an era stretching back through the SEC and CL-Class.
