Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé (C292) (C292)

Mercedes-Benz’s answer to the BMW X6 arrived eight years after the car it was answering, and was rather better resolved for the wait.

The C292 took the W166’s underpinnings, dropped the roofline into a fastback and fitted standard AIRMATIC and permanent 4MATIC with a 40:60 rear-biased torque split, offering the OM642 diesel, the M276 twin-turbo V6 and the 585 PS M157 V8 of the AMG GLE 63 S Coupé.

Built at Tuscaloosa alongside the GLE, it ran from 2015 to 2019 before the C167 replaced it.
