A fabric roof that folds in around twenty seconds while the car is moving, with AIRCAP and AIRSCARF to make open-air driving plausible well outside summer.
The A236 followed the coupé in April 2024, sharing its M254 and M256 mild-hybrid engines, OM654 diesel and CLE 300 e plug-in hybrid, and replacing the C-Class and E-Class cabriolets in a single move.
It is the only four-seat fabric-roof convertible in the Mercedes-Benz range.

- 2024
- CLE Cabriolet launched in the United States, replacing both C-Class and E-Class convertibles with a four-seat fabric roof that opens or closes in 20 seconds at up to 60 km/h.
- AIRCAP wind deflector and AIRSCARF neck heating were standard in North America; the 11.9-inch center display tilts to reduce reflections with the roof down.
- CLE 300 and CLE 450 paired 48-volt four- and six-cylinder engines with standard 4MATIC; the 450 added rear-axle steering.
- 2025
- AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet arrived with the 330 kW (443 hp) M256 inline-six, 48-volt ISG, fully variable 4MATIC+, wider bodywork and standard rear-axle steering.
