Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan (V177) (V177)

The A-Class grew up — the V177 A-Class Sedan abandoned the original hatchback's tall-boy packaging for a conventional three-box saloon on the MFA2 platform, bringing Mercedes-Benz's entry-level model into direct competition with the BMW 2 Series and Audi A3 Sedan.

Mercedes-Benz introduced the A-Class Sedan on the V177 chassis in 2018 alongside the W177 hatchback, sharing turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines and the MBUX infotainment system with its five-door sibling. The saloon body offered a 50-millimeter longer wheelbase and a boot capacity that made it genuinely practical; AMG versions including the A 35 and A 45 S delivered up to 421 PS from turbocharged four-cylinder engines that redefined what a compact saloon could achieve.

The V177 A-Class Sedan represents Mercedes-Benz's expansion of the A-Class into the compact executive saloon segment — a conventional three-box body that carries the brand's technology and design language to a buyer who wants a boot rather than a hatch.
