Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan (W202)

The W202 was the first Mercedes-Benz to wear the C-Class name — a compact executive saloon and estate that translated Baby Benz values into the 1990s with cleaner styling and a broader engine range.

Replacing the W201 in 1993, the W202 offered four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol and diesel models, supercharged Kompressor variants, and the hand-built C 36 AMG. Multi-link rear suspension carried over in evolved form, and build quality remained the priority even as the class below the E-Class grew increasingly competitive.

Between 1993 and 1997, 1,453,219 were built.
