Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class SUV (X204) (X204)

The X204 GLK was Mercedes-Benz's first compact luxury SUV — a squared-off, upright five-door that predated the softer GLC and established the firm's presence in the premium crossover class.

Built on a modified C-Class platform with 4MATIC all-wheel drive across most of the range, the GLK offered four-cylinder CDI and six-cylinder petrol engines in a package sized between the ML-Class and the passenger-car range. Its distinctive geometric styling divided opinion, but its capability and build quality did not.

Produced from 2008 to 2015, the X204 GLK was replaced by the X253 GLC — a name change that reflected Mercedes-Benz's new nomenclature, but a direct continuation of the concept the GLK had pioneered.
